Green Roof
American Hydrotech's Garden Roof Assembly brings beauty and a "green"
aspect to an often neglected area of a building. By replacing a heat-absorptive
roof with lush vegetation, the Garden Roof reduces high temperatures associated
with the urban heat island effect as well as significantly reduces stormwater
runoff, increases building energy efficiency and increases usable space
for tenant or recreational use while creating an aesthetically pleasing
rooftop environment.
The Garden Roof Assembly incorporates a waterproof membrane, drainage/water
retention elements, root barrier, insulation and an engineered lightweight
growing medium to transform any flat or gently sloped roof into a landscaped
environment. The assembly can be installed on roof and plaza decks not
engineered to handy heavy load requirements of a traditional "green"
roof.
The Garden Roof Assembly can help earn projects up to 10 credits or more
towards a U.S. Green Building Council LEED rating. Contact: American Hydrotech
