John Deere Debuts Small Frame Compact Track Loader

The new CT315 already meets interim Tier 4 emissions standards.

John Deere adds the small frame CT315 to its compact track loader line. The 45-hp unit already meets interim Tier 4 emissions standards and becomes Deere’s first radial lift compact track loader, as well as its smallest, with a 12.6-in.-wide track and a narrow overall machine width of just over 60 in. While the CT315 is compact, it provides a 1,500-lb rated operating capacity.

The CT315 offers a 360° view that is uninterrupted to the sides, both above and below the lift arms. John Deere’s 60/40 weight distribution from the back to the front of the machine gives operators stability, power and maneuverability under load. Under the hood, the Deere PowerTech™ 4024T 4-cylinder 2.4-L engine provides superior engine lugging capability while working heavy loads.

Twin bucket cylinders mounted on each side of the lift arms provide wide opening to make it easy to enter and exit the operator station. Standard features include high-back ergonomic and adjustable seating and adjustable armrests.

Roadtec offers the new RT-500 Cold Recycler

The RT-500 is intended for use in cold-in-place recycling projects using the recycling train concept, consisting of tanker trucks, cold planers, crushing and screening units, mixers, pavers and rollers. The new RT-500 can handle up to 600 tons per hour of material and is designed to crush and screen the RAP produced by the RX-900 cold planer. The on-board pugmill mixes emulsion into the recycled material.

The RT-500’s double-deck screen receives the milled-up material from the RX-900 conveyor. Any oversized material goes through the RT-500’s Telsmith 3048 impact crusher and back to the screen via a two-conveyor return circuit.

Material that passes the screen drops onto a 48-in. weigh belt. The belt’s electronic scale communicates with the blending computer, which in turn adjusts the flow of additives that go into the RT-500’s JCI/KPI Model 52 pugmill mixer. This twin shaft mixer has a capacity of 600 tons per hour. After mixing, the material is discharged in a windrow onto the roadway. The whole RT-500 system is run by electric motors powered by a Caterpillar C-9 generator set.

Simpson Strong-Tie® introduces MASA Mudsill Anchors

Simpson Strong-Tie® introduces MASA Mudsill Anchors with a new and improved design that provides one-to-one replacement of 1/2-in. and 5/8-in. anchor bolts. The load capacity of the new MASA mudsill anchor meets or exceeds that of other cast-in-place anchors.

Key areas of the anchor have been reinforced and fasteners have been added. In addition, since the MASA can be installed as wide as 6 ft on center, the same load capacity can be achieved with fewer mudsill anchors.

MASA mudsill anchors attach easily to concrete forms and lay flat on top of the form board, eliminating the need to finish around anchor bolts. There is no plate drilling required and the flat design helps avoid time-consuming modifications to prefabricated walls or rim joists that often have to be adjusted to remedy off-center bolt installations.
