commentDiane Falcioni stepped in to the position of director of governmental relations and legislative affairs for the Port of Galveston.
She will interact with federal, state and local agencies on issues affecting the port.
Responsibilities include regional economic development as well as solicitation and management of grant funds to improve and secure the port. Falcioni joined the port in 1989 and has held various management positions. In her position as cruise terminal promotion manager in the early 1990s, Falcioni was instrumental in developing Texas as a market for ports of call.
Recently, she helped the port secure the necessary channels to secure funding for projects including transportation infrastructure, security initiatives, coastal erosion programs and emergency response management.
