The Federal Highway Administration issued a Notice of Availability for the U.S. 290/Hempstead Corridor’s Final Environmental Impact Statement, marking the culmination of the program’s 10-year planning and environmental process, and bringing the program closer to the start of right-of-way acquisition and construction in the Houston region.
If granted final federal approval, construction can begin by summer 2011 on portions of the corridor program.
