Plano-based SHW Group was selected by Texas A&M University System to complete the second phase of a student housing expansion project after the firm served as architect of record for phase one, which opened earlier this year.

The Gardens at University Apartments, phase one, at Texas A&M, College Station, was completed in July. Phase two is scheduled to open in summer 2011.

Phase two includes 173,900-sq-ft of apartments. The four-building, 168-unit facility will house married or single graduate students, families, non-freshman undergraduate students and veterans. It is scheduled for a summer completion.
The 234,300-sq-ft phase one project—the Gardens at University Apartments—was completed in July.
